Giving Your All

Give your all
That's what they say
But are they the ones
That have to pay?

To sacrifice
Your last dollar
In that very moment
In that very hour

Giving your all
Hurts future plans
Keeping it all
Is the way of Man

To be very selfish
And to be greedy
Ignoring your friends
Ignoring the needy

But alas, God demands
Mercy and compassion
And wants it demonstrated
With immediate action

Leaving us bankrupt
Making the poor wealthy
Putting others ahead
Making sure their healthy

So that means
I'm in last place
The last to be served
Out of the human race

But perhaps being empty
Is spiritual perfection
In order that I might receive
A more glorious resurrection.
